Software Developer

Northcoders graduate coding in JavaScript who enjoys working in a team and solving problems through code.

After having trained as a primary school teacher and working with 30 excitable children each day, programming is a breath of fresh air. Although I have many fond memories of the classes I've taught and schools I've worked at, coding has gotten me excited to get out of bed in the mornings again. I love the constant battle between taking on tricky challenges and then actually finding solutions for them. I'm especially interested in EdTech because I've seen first hand the postive impact effective technology can have on children, although care must be taken to mitigate any possible negative aspects.

Currently working on: Band Coach Arranger Tool

The Band Coach Arranger Tool is a fairly niche app to help musicians or music teachers record different sections of song arrangements. It allows users to create multiple different sections for songs and includes: an area for different rhythms, an area to record chord inversions and an area to record different drum beats. It has been designed as a Progressive Web App to ensure that it can easily be accessed on work devices and will store data regardless of web connectivity.
